Hello, I'm French and i have a SBS tanzutsu 76. Can you help me for the corrector mount: I unmounted it for cleaning, but I stupidly forget to note wich face go up (inside the ocular tube)! Is it the more curved or the other one? Thanks a lot.

Thank you for the reply and using the Japanese( maybe Chinese? ) eccentric telescope.
I saw my TANZUTSU and knew more curved face faces the secondry mirror.
I hope it helps you

Japanese! Always. It's a SBS, "fabriqué au Japon" imported and sale in Paris the 29 march 1985 (original document inside the housing case). I like it! It's so tiny near my 300mm Dobson!!
thanks a lot for the help for the corrective lenses. I was good, it was correct!
I like your blog! I've just find it two days ago, and I begin my exploration. Your approach of astronomy is so interesting!
Nice to find this little jewel on the web!!
Best regards,
Bruno

Thank you for praising my blog. I am only doing remodeling without practical use of the telescope as I am interested. It's just a funny stone rather than a jewel.
I am sorry that only Japanese is available, but please visit from now on!

Don't worry, here in France, Chinese astronomical products are everywhere...
But I'm still in love with the old Japanese production. The only problem is to find good eyepieces in 24,5mm : impossible in France!
Maybe it's possible to use a 1.25 to 0.96 adapter in the tanzutsu?? Do you try this with modern eyepieces?

Yes, it's possible to use a 1.25 to 0.96 adapter, for TANZUTSU has a long backfocus.
I am doing it normally like this!

Thanks a lot, I was sure it was possible... I'll buy one this evening on the web.
That's funny because, few minutes ago, my wife offer me a Japanese knife for my birthday, a higonokami...
Japan for ever !(and for everything?)
Friendly,
Bruno.

Happy Birthday!
When I was a kid, every boys had higonokami. In those days it was produced a lot. However, it was considered dangerous for children to have knives afterwards. Therefore, current Japanese children do not know higonokami. It is now being produced a little for our generation.

Thanks a lot for these infos! Here in Europe, and in France in particular, knifes are very common and important. I have a Swiss knife in my pocket everyday!
The cultural differences are awesome...but the story of a country (and the tragedies) explain these differences.
I've buy an adaptor for the Tanzutsu. Now I'm waiting for delivery (from China...).
Best regards.

>adaptor for the Tanzutsu.
That's good.
Recent recommendations are eyepieces with a 100 ° or 82 ° field of view made in China. They show very high performance and are inexpensive.

Hello, I've just received my adaptor!
First try on the moon, telescope put directly outside without thermal equilibrium and the sky is still blue...
But the result is very impressive!
I need to perfect the collimation, but it's a good viewer.
It's still good with a 7mm wide angle 82°(I will push to my 4mm next time).
When I've got more time, I'll try at night, with correct thermal adaptation and I decided if I try to collimate a bit more!
Thanks a lot for your help.

Maybe you know it but I've just discover www.jauce.com.
I'm going to buy a lot of tiny and beautiful Japanese optical stuff...
I'm waiting for the delivery of a new tiny scope (a perl Halley 70mm, or Perl multi 70s) I've just buy on a French eBay like site.
I'm "tiny scope" addict.
Definitely.
See you.
Best regards,
Bruno

In order to collimate TANZUTSU using a laser collimator, you have to remove the collector lens, but please try it. Temperature equilibrium is important in closed tubes like TANZUTSU, but if you do that, you may be able to see the diffraction rings.

http://blog.guym.jp/2015/04/vixen-halley-multi-70s.html
When you see a bright object like the moon, chromatic aberration appears because it is refracter with achromatic lens and the focal length is short.
But it is a wonderfully designed telescope.
I like it!
But I'm sorry, my favorite telescope is a small Newtonian with a parabolic mirror.

Hello, i prefer reflective scope too! (From my 76mm to my 305mm!!!)
But the perl multi 70s was so cheap, I couldn't hesitate!
When I was a beginner in astronomy (25 or 30 years ago) it was one of my favourite: the design, the originality, the Colour, the quality, but the price was crazy for such a small diameter.

I've an other question for you: my tanzutsu has a sticker "SBS made in Japan".
Do you know this brand? I can't find anything on the web.
Thanks a lot for your message,

I also have "Vixen Tachyon Multi 80S" I bought because it was cheap!
https://moon.ap.teacup.com/bmgsblog/341.html
I will report my 80S on my blog next time.
Unfortunately I do not even know the SBS brand.
In Japan, TANZUTSU was sold under ”TOWA” or ”TASCO” brand.
I think SBS is rather European brand.

Hello again,
Do you know the Tasco 999vr model (it's a small refractor) in black colour scheme?
I can't find any info on the web in French or English. The red 999vr Tasco ok, but the black one: nothing!
I've just buy one (waiting for delivery), and I would like to know more about this little scope.
I've buy it for the 40mm eyepiece included in the box!

For Tasco 9vr I do not know both of red and black well.
In Japanese there were the following sites.
https://udo20.blog.so-net.ne.jp/2019-01-06
Reducing the aperture to reduce chromatic aberration.
The author of this site is exchanging for ED lens and making it high performance.
